About Fostering Disciples
Preaching – Teaching – and Proclaiming Jesus.
Jesus teaches us in Matthew 28 that we have an ultimate calling to GO. We must be proactive and we must be moving forward. We cannot be couch potato Christians simply attending church on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights taking in what is presented before us. We cannot be closet Christians where we hide from society only concerned with what is in it for “me”. But in this scripture, Jesus explains what we are called to do…
- Make Disciples – We MUST teach Jesus
- Baptize – Publicly show acceptance and surrender to Christ
- Teach what He has commanded – Teach how to disciple others
This is why our motto is “Preaching, Teaching, and Proclaiming the name of Jesus”. In everything that we do, we want Jesus to be the forefront.
So what do we do?

A message from the founder of Fostering Disciples
My name is Kyle Jernigan. I want to begin by saying thank you for visiting our new website. Fostering Disciples, the name and ministry concept, is a ministry that God has been pouring into my life over the past 7 years. Of course, the overall structure has changed a couple of times, but it has finally become evident that I must pursue this ministry more vigorously from now on.
God has really been on me about pursuing a few different avenues for this ministry.
- The first is sharing Jesus through writing. Yes, writing. This is something I never fathomed I would ever get into. Writing is not my strongest attribute; however, when God begins to tug on your heart, you have to following His path.
- The second is to share the Gospel through video, content creation, and other avenues, planting seeds and leading people to Jesus.
- The third is leading a foster care & adoption advocacy program to equip the church in how they can step up and support children, foster parents, and biological parents as they navigate through the foster care system.
